About Dana Air
Founded in 2008, Dana Air is a commercial airline company based in Lagos, Nigeria. Its company slogan is the smarter way to fly. Its parent company is Dana Group of Companies. The airline operates from its main hub located in Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
Dana Air does not have any airline subsidiary. Following a fatal incident in 2012, the airline had its licence revoked but this has been reinstated by Nigeria’s Civil Aviation Authority in 2014. The airline has now resumed its service to its five current destinations. These are Abuja, Accra, Lagos, Port Harcourt and Uyo.
Dana Air is not a member or any airline alliance. It is also not in any partnership or codeshare agreement.
Dana Air current fleet includes McDonnell Douglas MD-82 and MD-83 totalling to 6 aircrafts. It is now in the process of getting a lease of five Boeing aircrafts from Ryanair to further spread its wings.
Dana Air offers both Business and Economy classes to its passengers. As Dana Air currently only serves short-haul routes, it has yet to offer any exciting in-flight entertainment flights. Light meals are available and any special requests have to be informed prior to departure. Dana Air in-flight magazine is called Cloud 9.
Dana Air frequent flyer program is called Dana Miles. There are three membership tiers; Blue, Silver and Gold. Benefits include excess baggage allowance, priority check-in and boarding and access to lounges.
Dana Air offers reasonable baggage allowance for short-haul traveling. Passengers in Business class are allowed 30kg while those in Economy are allowed 23kg. Those traveling with infants are allowed additional 10kg.
